A Bit About Me

I’m Ellie! Writer, storyteller, and the creator of Make Do and Friends—a blog about life’s messy, wonderful, and totally unpredictable moments. Whether it’s navigating friendships, making a house feel like home, or figuring out modern relationships, I write about the things we all experience but don’t always talk about.

I’m in my early 30s, based in a cosy little flat with a questionable amount of houseplants and a firm belief that a cup of tea and a good chat can solve almost anything. I started Make Do and Friends because, like most of us, I’ve had my fair share of highs, lows, and “what the hell am I doing?” moments. Writing became my way of making sense of it all—and now, I get to share those thoughts with you.

This blogs is a space for honest conversations—the kind you’d have with a best friend after a long day. No judgment, no impossible perfection—just real talk about life, love, and everything in between.

Let’s Talk – Real Conversations Start Here!

Purpose

At Make Do and Friends, my mission is to create a space for honest, relatable conversations about life’s unpredictable moments. Through storytelling, I aim to connect, comfort, and inspire readers by sharing real experiences on friendships, home, and modern relationships. No filters, no perfection—just authentic reflections on the everyday highs, lows, and everything in between.

Vision

I envision Make Do and Friends as a trusted, go-to space where people feel seen, heard, and understood. A place where open conversations spark connection, where vulnerability is embraced, and where storytelling fosters a sense of belonging. Through heartfelt writing and shared experiences, I hope to build a community that thrives on honesty, empathy, and the simple joy of making sense of life together.
